Nicholas Carothers, PA-C is an Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA) who works in collaboration with Dr. Barton Wax. Nick is the first assistant in all surgeries performed by Dr. Wax, meaning he will be personally involved in all aspects of your care from pre-op, intra-op, and post-op, as he is an integral part of your orthopedic surgical team here at Jefferson Orthopedic Clinic. Throughout your treatment you will intermittently have follow-up visits with Nick as your orthopedic provider and you can also rely on him for prompt and often same day appointments for any urgent or acute orthopedic complaints.

Nicholas attended Florida State University for undergraduate education and graduated with a degree in Food Science. He then attended Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans for PA school. Prior to PA school, Nick worked in Urgent care and outpatient neurology as a medical assistant. He currently lives in New Orleans.
